When Earthly Wisdom Fails – Part 2

The wisdom of men cannot search out the things of GOD, this made prophet Isaiah to pen the following truth concerning our awesome GOD: “Thus saith the LORD, thy redeemer, and He that formed thee from the womb, I am the LORD that maketh all things; that stretcheth forth the heavens alone; that spreadeth abroad the earth by myself; That frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish;” (Isaiah 44:24-25 KJV)

Take a deep breath and re-read the following verse “That frustrateth the tokens of the liars, and maketh diviners mad; that turneth wise men backward, and maketh their knowledge foolish;” (Isaiah 44:25 KJV) – Let’s paraphrase the verse: our GOD exposes as false the so called solid proofs of liars. This forces them to come up with more lies and more false proofs, the constant exposure of such lies and false proofs bends their minds towards lunacy; making their knowledge foolish. Very interesting, very revealing.

How else can we explain the behavior of atheists who questioned Scriptural truths about the permanence of earth?

Confusion regarding the Permanence of Earth

King Solomon said, “… the earth abideth for ever.” — Ecclesiastes 1:4

Peter opined that, “… the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.” — 2 Peter 3:10

Atheists claimed Apostle Peter contradicted king Solomon.

We conclude: “But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? Thou fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die:” (1 Corinthians 15:35-36 KJV)

Observe, is it possible to sow fresh seed? Let’s say fresh, soft, and succulent corn? Of course the answer is no, why? Only dead seeds can be sown. Again, does the seed of corn that is sown changes its’ name when it grows? No, it retains its name. Therefore, when a seed dies and is sown, it returns to life not with a different name but with the same name, that is rice remains rice, beans remains beans, millet remains millet, and finally earth remains earth.

Am I insinuating that the earth will someday become so dead (in sins) to warrant a catastrophic destruction and the creation of a brand new earth? The answer is a resounding YES. Observe, even atheistic climate change advocates have been warning for years that the earth is ripe for destruction, due to increasing heat (Biblical fervent heat), which will melt polar icescapes and inundate the world with water.

Therefore, since earthlings will always remain earthlings, the first planet that we inhabit after earth is destroyed will retain the name Earth – which invariably implies that the earth abideth forever - just like Solomon foretold thousands of years ago. Nomenclatures are hard to change; hence Christopher Columbus’s mistake in labeling Native Americans as Indians is still applicable hundreds of years later. Many folks got to know about American Indians before Asiatic Indians (whom Columbus was actually searching for through a western sea route) – Nonetheless, the name American Indian is retained to this day.

The Bible mentioned earth will be destroyed through fervent heat and a new one will be available for surviving saints to occupy. Climate Change advocates and atheists mentioned destruction through the effect of fervent heat on ice, unfortunately they have no future earth to occupy, perhaps this is why they are bitter.

This bitterness is unwarranted, like Noah of old; we invite them to turn to GOD in repentance, through confession of their sins and acceptance of Christ’s sacrificial death on the Cross as a worthy substitute for the consequences of their sins. Only then will the awesome joy of The LORD be their strength.

Stay tuned for part three.

Shalom!
